Westfields Hospital & Clinic to provide athletic training to Somerset Schools
Beginning in August, Westfields Hospital & Clinic will provide athletic training for various Somerset School District sports, including football, soccer, volleyball and basketball.
The three-year athletic training service agreement – approved by the Somerset school board – provides a Westfields licensed athletic trainer at sports team practices, home athletic events and varsity football away games. In partnership with Nicholas Weiss, MD, a sports medicine specialist at Twin Cities Orthopedics, Westfields will also provide physician coverage at home football games.
In addition to Somerset schools, Westfields provides athletic training services and summer strength and conditioning for the New Richmond School District.
“Working to care for kids so they can be safe and physically active fits right in with our mission to improve the health and well-being of our community,” said Stephanie Oyloe, sports medicine coordinator at Westfields. “Our team partners with athletic directors, coaches, athletes and parents to help achieve their personal and team goals.”
