Golf event sets $44,000 goal to raise funds for patient experience
Westfields Hospital & Clinic Foundation’s 11th annual Golf Outing is set for Monday, Aug. 5 at New Richmond Golf Club. The Foundation aims to raise $44,000 at the event for projects that enrich patient care and experience.
According to Jo Wrich, Westfields Hospital Foundation director, some of the money raised will be used to support the Healing Arts program; patient transportation needs; massage, music and aroma integrative therapies; and educational equipment. “We’re so grateful for the generosity of the golfers and the community, who through this fundraiser, help enhance the care and experience for our patients.”
Through the years, the Foundation has raised significant funds for patients and the community. In 2018, the golf outing raised $51,000 for youth mental health services, and the wine event raised $36,000 to enhance and secure the hospital’s Birth Center and maternity rooms. With private donations in 2018, the foundation secured several grants to support Westfields’ expanded pain management program.
“We want patients in New Richmond to have access to the same services as patients do in the Twin Cities, and philanthropy has made this possible,” said Wrich.
Raffle tickets are available to support the fundraising goal, with prizes of $1,000 cash, $500 cash, tickets to Packers and Twins games, and a chainsaw.
