January 18th: An Overview of Diabetes and Its Management - Back to the basics of diabetes. Excellent class for the pre-diabetic, newly diagnosed patient, or as a refresher course.
February 15th: Overview of Diabetes Part Two - Continuation of basics of diabetes management.
March 21st: Diabetic Neuropathy - Find out what causes the burning, the pins and needles, and numbness. Explore different therapies with neurologist Dr. Richardson to find out what can help you.
April 18th: Artificial Sweeteners - Mary Jo Brunner, M.S. R.D. C.D., from Family Fresh Market will talk about safe amounts of sweeteners, foods where they are found, and taste test different products.
May 16th: Understanding Your Medications - A Westfields Hospital pharmacist will be the guest speaker. Learn what's new in diabetic medications. Bring your medications from home and have them reviewed.
June 20th: Carb Counting - Come and play games to improve your carb counting skills; a night of fun with prizes.
