Located at the Cancer Center of Western Wisconsin in New Richmond, Wisconsin, Dr. Shapiro acts as the Director of Medical Oncology and oversees cancer care at all six partnering hospital locations.
Dr. Shapiro offers local patients more than 25 years of clinical and academic experience in medical oncology, with his most recent work as chairman of the Department of Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, director of the Johns Hopkins Geriatric Oncology Program, and associate professor in the Department of Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. His extensivetraining includes a fellowship in medical oncology at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Shapiro is certified by the American Board of Medical Oncology and American Board of Internal Medicine. His specialty interests include geriatric oncology, breast cancer and medical ethics.
